WK 5/6: Edgar Cayce and the Skeptic

This article was describing the tactics of a specific person named Edgar Cayce who says that he has miraculous powers to be able to read the future and such. I like the idea that Occam's Razor is defined a little bit more because before i just knew it as a website as in which the one we use for this class. Occam's razor does make sense as Professor Lane describes it, it only shaves the extraordinary claims but does not work all the time. It kind of mind boggles me that sometimes we don't believe something because it may seem out of this world to believe it, but we cant kill it to the floor because we have no evidence to fight it back and say it can never, ever be true. I agree that in order to understand somebody else's thoughts or a specific message or understanding that someone is trying to give to you, you must first of all understand every specific fragment in the sentence and understand it from beginning to end. I also found interesting that if Cayce were to be proven such a false reader, most people already believing n him would not fall back and turn against him. They would remain on his side due to their spiritual ride they have taken with him the whole entire time prior to his falsification.
